Seeing Your Big Picture

A couple of years ago, the Johnson County Public Library just south of Indianapolis was facing frequent bottlenecks in its connectivity—and some very unhappy patrons. As Director Beverly Martin describes it, the library had found itself on the “bleeding edge” of technology. Her county’s population was growing at one of highest rates in the state and, as today’s library is increasingly a virtual service, her library needed help, pronto. Enter ENA. Today, Martin, her staff and patrons are enjoying bandwidth in abundance over its fiber WAN, plus they’re saving money with video teleconferencing. In Martin’s words, “ENA’s people see the big picture—our big picture … with ENA we’ve hit gold.”

Adams County, IN, Library Embraces Change for the Better

In 2008, two public library districts in Adams County, IN, joined to form a single entity in order bring better services to the county’s patrons. Moreover, the new library district decided to join the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium, a statewide library resource-sharing program. Today, the county’s patrons are enjoying better service, more programs and the ability to search and request items from any other consortium partner in the state. Thanks in large part to ENA, the consolidation of two collections and “the migration to Evergreen was seamless.” — Kelly Ehinger, director of the system.
