Consortium Buys
ENA works diligently to meet our customers’ needs. In addition to our core Internet access and value-added service offerings, we partner with various providers to deliver educational resources. These providers offer solutions that add value to education at the lowest available cost. Customers are able to take advantage of low, negotiated prices on outstanding curriculum and safety products. The product portfolio will vary each year. The 2008 Consortium Product Offering includes:
Brain POP
Brain POP is an educational program for kids of all ages. The content spans across six main subjects including: Science, Math, English, Social Studies, Health and Technology. Within each subject, there are hundreds of short, animated movies that speak to kids in a language and voice that they understand. The movies are typically three to four minutes long, require minimal bandwidth, and utilize little memory to play. The movies strive to provide kids with an honest and real view of a variety of topics. In addition to the traditional Brain POP product, there is now Brain POP Jr., geared toward grades K-3, as well as Brain POP Espanol.
Gaggle
Gaggle provides safe e-mail accounts for students. The tools provided allow schools to feel secure when giving their students e-mail access. With Gaggle, teachers control what can be written and who students can correspond with. Messages with inappropriate words are automatically re-routed to the teacher's account. In addition to the current features, Gaggle offers collaboration tools, also referred to as the Student Web Hosting Package, which includes blogs, digital lockers, message boards, user profile pages, and chat rooms.
Gaggle Email Archiving
ENA and Gaggle have worked together to develop an email archiving solution for schools and libraries. Unlike other solutions that require the installation of software, the Gaggle Email Archiving Service works with the majority of the email server environments that schools and libraries have deployed. All archived emails are automatically stored in geographically redundant data centers and a web-based environment provides an easy-to-use interface for searching the archive. The Gaggle Email Archiving Service provides schools and libraries with an off-site archive of all incoming, outgoing, and internal emails in a secure, read only interface at an attractive price.
netTrekker d.i.
netTrekker d.i. is the award-winning search engine for schools. netTrekker d.i. -- for differentiated instruction -- supports standards-based online resources, organized by readability level to help every child achieve. This Web-based tool enables students and teachers to quickly identify educationally related resources from a vast database maintained by netTrekker. In addition, the netTrekker relational database links the identified resources to state curriculum standards in the core content areas and provides suggested lessons to integrate these resources into classroom instruction.
