Cupid’s Arrow Is Alive and Well Here at ENA

For six married couples working here at ENA, it’s a family affair. Some met before their careers at ENA began, while others found their soulmates within the friendly confines of the ENA office. We hope you enjoy reading their stories as much as we did!

1. How did you two meet? We met at the old ENA office in Nashville. Mike had just been hired and was going to start work the following week, but ENA invited him to attend the annual Chili cook-off as a way to meet some of our employees and—lucky for me—he ended up sitting at my table.
2. How did he (or she) propose? Mike and I really enjoy cruising. Mike proposed on the Lido Deck of the Carnival Destiny cruise ship, under the blue moon, somewhere in the middle of the Caribbean.
3. How long have you been married? Over two-and-a-half years.
4. What’s it like working with your spouse? Great. Mike and I are remote employees now, so we are both working out of the house and get to see each other all day. In fact, on days that I travel or even days that we are in the Nashville office, we both comment that we miss being able to literally look across the room and see each other every day at work. Since Mike and I both work a lot on our voice product, we enjoy working together to help keep our voice customers happy.
5. What are some of your shared interests (other than working for a great company)? We both love to travel, especially cruises, and we enjoy scuba diving. We both used to take vacations with our families to Florida, so it was a pretty easy decision for us to move down here. We can’t wait to get a boat so we can go fishing and diving.

1. How did you two meet? We met in high school. He played on the basketball team and I was a trainer. We both joined the military. Michael joined the Marines and I went to the Army.
2. How did he (or she) propose? Michael’s family does Secret Santa every year. Michael hid my ring in my gift, got down on one knee, and proposed right there.
3. How long have you been married? We have been married almost two years now.
4. What’s it like working with your spouse? It’s nice being able to have lunch with your best friend every day.
5. What are some of your shared interests (other than working for a great company)? We love to run Disney Half Marathons. It’s been something that we have been doing since we have been together. We also love traveling as much as we can.

1. How did you two meet? We met at work in Denver, Colorado, in 2005. Mike was trying to flirt with me while I was filling out my application (he already worked there). I should have known he was trouble from the start. 🙂
2. How did he (or she) propose? Mike proposed to me on Valentine’s Day in 2010 at Carrabba’s in front of his family and a lot of other diners. He wanted to go around the table and have everyone say what they are thankful for, and when it got to him, he said me and proposed. 🙂 It was so loud there that he didn’t hear me say “YES” through my tears so he thought I hesitated! He still brings up how I wasn’t sure about marrying him. Lol.
3. How long have you been married? We will be married five years on June 11 of this year.
4. What’s it like working with your spouse? It is awesome! We both love how we work for the same great company! ENA has opened so many doors for us. I also like how I can keep tabs on him just by popping in. I wonder if he feels the same way? 🙂
5. What are some of your shared interests (other than working for a great company)? We both love football, the Spurs and Tex-Mex. We also love playing poker and rocking it out on Rock Band. Of course our main shared interest these days is our little guy, Baby Mikey.

1. How did you two meet? We met at ENA. She started in May and I came on later that year in November. At that time, Marketing and Sales worked a lot of conferences and customer events and that is how we got to know each other.
2. How did he (or she) propose? We had just closed on our first house. After closing, we went to dinner to celebrate. I had arranged for her sister to get our new house key and set up hundreds of candles and roses (a rose for every week we had dated, which was over four year’s worth of roses) so that when we walked into the house after dinner, this is what she saw.
3. How long have you been married? Five-and-a-half years.
4. What’s it like working with your spouse? Pretty easy since we have always worked together and met at work. We both understand each other’s job and day-to-day work. I think it makes it easier when you both work at the same place. You easily understand stressful and busy times. The only downfall is you talk about work all the time. It definitely carries home with you more when you both work at the same place.
5. What are some of your shared interests (other than working for a great company)? We are parents of two awesome little girls. Zella Mae is two and Avett Laine is one, and they take up most of our time. We also enjoy concerts, finding new restaurants, and attending sporting events. If we have time, we like to travel.

Noah joined the ENA team in 2015 as the marketing communications manager.
