Girls Who Code!

ENA by Zayo > ENA Life > Girls Who Code!
What do cardboard boxes and cat memes have to do with the Internet? They both can be used to explain the inner workings of the Internet to eager young minds!
Earlier this May, ENA had the opportunity to host 25 female students from Stratford STEM Magnet Middle School. The students, all members of the school’s Girls Who Code Club, engaged in hands-on-activity that that required them to map out the route of an emailed cat meme across the world using cardboard boxes. The ENA employees who led that activity, as well as the informative events and presentations throughout the course of the morning, were impressed and inspired by the girls’ collective curiosity and eagerness to learn.
“Every day I am honored to work at ENA and have a small part in providing students access to technology so they can learn, grow, and dream big, ” said Courtney Hulsey, senior manager of service delivery. “I was fortunate to spend time with a wonderful group of young ladies who were excited and curious to learn about our employees’ technology skills and what types of jobs are possible for them in the future.”
ENA passionately believes in empowering, engaging, and igniting the imaginations of future coders, and we were beyond proud to have these amazing students at our campus.
We look forward to our next meet up with these bright, promising students!
