Award Is Highest Honor From Prestigious State Educational Leader Group

Nashville, TN (Sept. 14, 2018) –Nashville-based Education Networks of America ‘s (ENA) CEO, David Pierce, has received the prestigious “George ‘Kip’ Reel Award for Leadership in Education” from the Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents.

The award is the highest honor from the organization and is given to individuals who have played an important role in education in Tennessee. Among the criteria for the selection are leaders who have the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions, and the compassion to listen to the needs of others.

“To even be mentioned in the same company as Kip Reel is humbling, and to receive an award bearing his name is an absolute honor,” said David Pierce, CEO of ENA. “He meant so much to education in Tennessee, and I want to do all I can to follow his example. I feel very honored and humbled to receive this award, but the credit needs to go to our state’s educators and technology leaders for their tireless dedication and commitment to serving today’s students.”

Also honored during the event was Dr. Linda Gilbert from Murfreesboro City Schools, who was recognized as the 2019 Superintendent of the Year. Dr. Gilbert will represent the state of Tennessee at the national School Superintendents Association (AASA) 2019 National Conference on Education in Los Angeles.
