Robertson County Schools, located in Middle Tennessee, is in the midst of rolling out its one-to-one (1:1) initiative. This has been a part of a greater technology overhaul, which has also included increased broadband speeds, improved Wi-Fi, and the integration of many web-based programs.

As James Marshall, the district’s supervisor of technology, points out, it’s not just the students who rely on pervasive broadband access—it’s also the teaching staff and administration.

We sat down with Mr. Marshall to discuss the importance of broadband as well as the district’s successful 1:1 initiative. Warning—his touching story at the end of the video might induce some water works.
